Dr. Fred Brown was born in New York City.  His non-medical interests include traveling, major league baseball, (preferably National league), and college football. 

He has been married to his wife Lori since 1985, and has two children.  His daughter is enrolled at Penn State University, and his son will be starting at the University of Florida in 2009.
