ECP
Endoscopic Photocoagulation (ECP)
For patients with cataracts and glaucoma, ECP is an option. ECP uses controlled laser energy to eliminate the tissue that is responsible for the increased production of aqueous. This tissue is known as the ciliary epithelium tissue. By effectively removing this tissue, intraocular pressure is lowered and aqueous production is controlled with long-term results. For most patients, ECP has proven to be extremely effective in reducing or eliminating the need for glaucoma eye drops.
