The Optical Shop at Eye Centers of Florida
Great Spectations
To see your best, you may need to purchase a pair of quality eyeglasses, sunglasses or contact lenses … like those available in the optical shops at Eye Centers of Florida. Our Licensed Opticians recommend that you consider these options for your eyewear:
Hivision lens
A high-tech coating that combines anti-reflective coating, scratch resistance into one super lens that maximizes your vision.
Anti-reflective coating
Reduces glare from lights and the sun. Cuts the reflection on the lens, so your eyes can be seen. Improves vision, especially for night driving.
Scratch coating
Protects your lenses and reduces scratches.
Transitions®/ Sunsensors®/ Instashade®
Fifth generation lenses that change from light to dark as you move between indoors and outdoors.
Polycarbonate lenses
The safest and most impact resistant – these are a great choice for active lifestyles and children. Polycarbonate lenses are a free of charge option to children under 18 years of age.
High-Index (Phoenix material)
Ultra thin lens, even for very strong prescriptions.
UV protection
Protects your eyes from the sun’s harmful rays. We recommend that all eyewear have a UV factor of 98% or more. UV rays have been tied to cataracts.
Single vision
One lens power that corrects for one of the following: farsightedness, nearsightedness or astigmatism.
Bifocals
Two lens powers, one for distance and one for near vision. A line divides the powers.
Trifocals
Three lens powers: one for distance, one for arm’s length and one for near vision. Lines divide all three powers.
Progressive lenses
“No-line bifocals.” Multiple, smooth powers for continuous, uninterrupted, natural vision at all distances. No lines, no sudden power changes. Improves your range of vision for near, far and everything in between.
