Born in New York City, Dr. Wesson was raised in Hollywood, Florida where he graduated from South Broward High School. After graduating from the University of Florida as a chemical engineer, Dr. Wesson went on to attend Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee where he obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree. He then established himself in private practice in Lake Placid, Florida for several years before being invited to join the faculty at the Univesity of Alabama at Birmingham, School of Optometry where he remained active for eighteen years. During this period
Dr. Wesson was involved in writing, lecturing, and research. He obtained tenure and was an Associate Professor of Optometry with main interests in pediatrics, learning disabilities and dyslexia. Dr. Wesson’s personal interests include computer programming, boating and fishing. He is married, has five children and six grandchildren. His e-mail address
