ReZoom™

Another second-generation IOL offered by Eye Centers of Florida is ReZoom™ by Advanced Medical Optics.

Like ReSTOR®, it is a hydrophobic acrylic multifocal lens that has had great success in reducing patients’ reliance on glasses after surgery.

Results of the FDA clinical studies showed that all study patients with the ReZoom™ lens reported that they can function comfortably without glasses at distance (100 percent), intermediate (95 percent), and near (71 percent). Sixty-seven percent of patients did not wear glasses at all six months postoperatively. All patients reported that they could easily drive a car.

ReZoom™ has five optic zones proportioned to provide good visual function across a range of distances in varying light conditions. Its five concentric refractive zones create true multifocal vision: zones 1, 3, and 5 are distance-dominant, while zones 2 and 4 are near-dominant, and an aspheric transition between zones provides balanced intermediate vision.
