New FDA-Approved Softec HD Lens at Eye Centers of Florida

FORT MYERS, FL (April 15, 2010) – David C. Brown, M.D., FACS, is proud to announce that Eye Centers of Florida is the first provider in S.W. Florida to offer the newly, FDA approved, Softec HD lens.

The Softec LensHD, developed by Lens Tec, offers cataract patients the very latest in lens implant technology.  The lens is specifically designed to, much more closely match, a patient prescription than ever before.  The specificity and accuracy has been described as similar to "buying shoes in ¼ sizes rather than ½ sizes!"  This allows the surgeon to be even more precise when selecting the correct implant lens prescription for a cataract patient.

Dr. Brown states, " We are proud that Lens Tec chose Eye Centers of Florida as the first practice to offer this new lens.  SoftecHD is truly the new Gold Standard in achieving optimal vision after cataract surgery and we are pleased that our patients will now benefit from that."

Eye Centers of Florida, founded by David C. Brown, M.D., in 1972, is a nationally recognized, progressive eye care center providing complete vision care to individuals throughout Southwest Florida.  The practice has a staff of more than 140, including a medical staff of four board-certified ophthalmologists, 10 board certified optometric physicians and a qualified team of specialist providers.  In Lee, Charlotte, Hendry and Collier counties, Eye Centers has offices from Port Charlotte south to Naples, Clewiston and Immokalee, as well as a surgery center and main office on Evans Avenue in Fort Myers.
