Personal
Dr. Mercandetti was born in the Bronx and raised in Manhattan. After completion of his medical training, he was a commissioned officer and served on active duty in the US Air Force during which time he completed a Preceptorship in Facial Plastic Surgery. He also completed a prestigious Fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstruction Surgery. Dr. Mercandetti has lived and practiced in Sarasota County for over 16 years. He married his wife Laura in 1989, and they have two children; Gianna, who is obtaining her master’s at Florida State University, and Chris, who attends the University of Florida.
