If cataracts are obscuring your vision and affecting your quality of life, it’s time to consider cataract surgery.
At Eye Centers of Florida, your cataract care experience is designed to make the process easy. At our Accredited SurgiCare Center in Fort Myers, we pull out all the stops to make surgery affordable, comfortable, and effective.
Experienced, Board Certified Surgeons
The keys to our exceptional patient experience are our two cataract surgery specialists, David C. Brown, M.D., F.A.C.S. and Juan P. Fernandez de Castro, M.D., Board Certified Ophthalmologists whose goals center around helping you see clearly again.
Our Founder and Medical Director, Dr. Brown, is internationally recognized as an industry leader in sutureless cataract surgery and has consistently been listed among the “Best Doctors in America.” Learn more about Dr. Brown.
In addition to being active in numerous professional associations, Dr. Fernandez has served as the American Academy of Ophthalmology Congressional Advocacy Ambassador. Learn more about Dr. Fernandez.
Full-Time CRNAs in Fort Myers
In order to make the process of cataract surgery as safe and effective as possible, Eye Centers of Florida upholds a commitment to providing access to highly trained staff at every step of the journey. Not every surgery center employs full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) to ensure patient comfort and safety during cataract procedures, but we do. Our CRNAs are trained to carefully administer anesthesia to patients during surgery.
Our CRNAs have more than 50 years of combined experience helping patients undergo surgical procedures, and because they’re permanent members of our surgical team, they’re involved in your procedure from start to finish. They’re familiar with your medical history and work with every department involved in your care, improving their understanding of your needs before, during, and after surgery.
Our entire team places great importance in making sure that you are at-ease going into every procedure. If you ever have any questions or anxiety about your cataract surgery, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Southwest Florida IOL Options
The outcome of your cataract surgery depends largely on your surgical team and the intraocular lens implant (IOL) options they make available to you.
During cataract surgery, the eye’s clouded natural lens is replaced by a permanent, artificial lens called an IOL. Because different IOLs have various functions and benefits, the type of IOL you choose directly impacts your post-surgery vision.
At Eye Centers of Florida, we want to help you choose the perfect IOL for your lifestyle and vision correction goals. Eye Centers of Florida offers more IOL options than any other eye care provider in Southwest Florida. We encourage you to explore your options and talk to your surgeon and clinical team about the best selection for you.
