What is Aesthetic Laser Treatments?

At The Aesthetic Center at Eye Centers of Florida, we believe that the health and appearance of your skin don’t just influence how you look; it impacts how you feel. That’s why, for over 20 years, we’ve provided life-enhancing aesthetic treatments to thousands of people in Southwest Florida.

We’ve helped countless patients improve the look and feel of their skin using wrinkle-reducing laser treatments, and we’re excited to help you bring out your inner beauty.

Laser treatments are non-invasive procedures which address a variety of skin conditions, blemishes, and effects of aging. The energy produced by the light used in these treatments stimulates cells, resulting in skin regeneration and repair.

What Are the Benefits to Laser Aesthetics?

Many patients enjoy laser therapy because they’re non-invasive procedures that have very little downtime and produce natural-looking results. Laser therapy is shown to reduce swelling and inflammation, improve circulation, and increase the production of pain-relieving endorphins.

Some of the blemishes that laser treatments address include:

  • Acne
  • Age spots
  • Birthmarks
  • Broken blood vessels
  • Discolored skin
  • Freckles
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Rosacea
  • Scars
  • Skin lesions
  • Stretch marks
  • Sun damage
  • Wrinkles

Laser treatments come in many forms that differ in application, which areas and blemishes they address, downtime, and results. At The Aesthetic Center, we’ll help you determine which treatment is best for you with a free skincare consultation.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Laser

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Laser treatment uses scattered light to treat an intermediate layer of skin while leaving the top layer of skin unaffected. This light heats the skin to promote cellular regeneration, leading to deep regeneration without damage.

IPL treatment is also useful for removing unwanted hair, healing skin that’s been damaged by the sun, and smoothing skin made uneven by a variety of health conditions.

IPL Laser Treatment

At The Aesthetic Center at Eye Centers of Florida, we understand how difficult it can be when your skin starts to show the impact of issues caused by medical conditions, sun damage, and aging. We’re proud to provide residents of Southwest Florida with rejuvenating intense pulsed light (IPL) laser treatments that treat blemishes and enhance beauty, helping our patients fall in love with their skin.

IPL laser therapy is an aesthetic treatment that uses the energy from light to remove — or improve the appearance of — a variety of different types of issues. Unlike traditional laser therapy, which uses a single wavelength of focused energy, an IPL laser emits scattered energy. Using scattered energy allows us to treat the second layer of skin, prompting cell rejuvenation and healing from within. It also allows us to treat multiple conditions at once, all while avoiding damage to the skin’s surface.

What Does IPL Laser Treatment Do?

The light waves emitted during IPL treatments heat precisely targeted skin cells, which can address numerous skin imperfections or remove unwanted hair. It can be applied anywhere on your body, improving the look and feel of your skin with minimal downtime.

IPL is exceptionally useful for facial and hand rejuvenation because of its ability to lessen the appearance of issues brought on by aging, such as wrinkles, age spots, and sunspots.

IPL treatment can also address:

  • Birthmarks
  • Broken blood vessels
  • Freckles
  • Pigmentation
  • Rosacea
  • Sun damage
  • Uneven skin
  • Unwanted hair
  • Varicose veins
  • Vascular lesions
  • Wrinkles

What Happens During IPL Laser Treatment?

Before your IPL treatment, our aesthetic experts will clean the treatment area and prepare your skin with a cooling gel solution. Next, we’ll provide you with protective glasses to wear while we use the IPL laser and apply light to your skin.

Because the light from IPL therapy is treating the deeper layers of skin, you may experience a minor stinging sensation, and your skin may feel slightly tender after treatment, like a sunburn. This is normal and should fade away in 4-6 hours.

IPL therapy is quick, with treatments averaging around 30 minutes; however, the time of your procedure will vary depending on the size of the treatment area. It’s also non-invasive, providing exceptional results without damaging the top layers of your skin. IPL laser treatment also has minimal recovery time and side effects, meaning you can return to your daily routine shortly after your treatment.
