Eye Centers of Florida
is Now In-Network for
Medicare Advantage
Members!

One of our primary missions at Eye Centers of Florida has always been to offer exceptional care to as many patients in Southwest Florida as possible. That’s why over the years, we’ve expanded from our flagship practice in Fort Myers to 9 convenient locations across the region.

Access to quality care doesn’t stop at the communities we serve, though, and we understand that many of our patients are dependent on health insurance coverage to guarantee consistent access to the high standard of care that we provide. That’s why we’re excited to announce that as of December 1, 2019, we’re now in-network for members of UnitedHealthcare’s Medicare Advantage plans!

Medicare Advantage Plan covers cataract surgery

About UnitedHealthcare’s Medicare Advantage Plans

UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage (also called “Medicare Part C”) plans are offered through AARP to qualifying members. We’re extremely excited to work with UnitedHealthcare to cover patients with Medicare Advantage because it’s one of the largest and most expansive groups of plans offered to citizens of Florida aged 65 and up, as well as those with disabilities.

Your Medicare Advantage Plan will cover cataract surgery and other necessary eye procedures — similar to other plans under Medicare — but it also has some unique benefits.

Vision and Hearing Benefits Under Medicare
Advantage

New and old Medicare Advantage members can use some of these additional benefits at Eye Centers of Florida for hearing and vision services:

Hearing: All UnitedHealthcare policyholders have access to a low co-pay for hearing aids. Your plan allows you one free hearing screening per year, but Eye Centers of Florida offers a free hearing check any time you visit!

Vision: UnitedHealthcare will cover the cost of an annual eye exam for all Medicare Advantage members! Depending on the specific plan, policyholders will also have access to an annual or semi-annual allowance for frames as well as full coverage of the cost of single vision, bifocal, trifocal, or progressive lenses.
